Soquel California takes its name from a  pre-California land grant, Rancho Soquel, and that name has been used to describe this diverse area from the mountains almost to the sea.

Today, Soquel combines the charming village area near scenic California State Highway 1 with rural mountain areas in a melange of cottage homes, ranches, horse properties, mountain cabins and homes with panoramic views of the redwoods, the Los Gatos Hills, and the Monterey Bay. 

Although it has no Monterey Bay frontage of its own, the village area is only a short walk, bike ride, or drive to Capitola and its beaches.  This makes Soquel homes for sale a more affordable way live near and enjoy the beaches of Monterey Bay.  It also offers an easy drive through the Santa Cruz Mountains to the many vineyards and wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountain wine country.

It is also a short distance to the Monterey Peninsula to the south and San Jose to the north.
