Walnut Creek is located 16 miles east of Oakland California in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Walnut Creek is the business, financial, and entertainment center of Contra Costa County.

Total population is over 65,000.

Originally, this area was known as “The Corners”, but became “Walnut Creek” in the latter half of the 1800’s. It was the 8^th city incorporated in Contra Costa County.

Today, Walnut Creek is known for its upscale urban-style shopping thanks to the Broadway Plaza Shopping Center. It is also a hub of fine dining restaurants and enjoys close proximity to hiking, biking, and jogging trails.

The Bay Area Rapid Transit system and California Highways 24 and 680 afford quick and easy access for residents and commutes to reach the metropolitan centers of San Francisco and Oakland.

Walnut Creek is also the home to Rossmoor, an adult active-living center.
